Why do organizations talk about the need to hire top talent, but do nothing revolutionary to improve the process?Â
We are continually amazed at the number of companies which give lip service to the concept of hiring talent - yet when you look at the specific strategies, tactics, processes, and methods they employ to do this - it’s the same old stuff. We call this “Tribal Hiring”. How much of your daily work falls into the category of tribal behavior - meaning you have no idea why you’ve been doing a particular process for the last 22 years - that’s just the way we’ve always done it. It’s almost as if we buy into the “I learned it from the old guy who learned it from the dead guy” approach.
How long are you willing to continue to fall victim to the Definition of Insanity?
If you truly want to make a commitment to hire top talent at every level, you’ve got to change what you’re doing. Benjamin Franklin best summed it up when he made the comment that “Doing the same thing over and over again hoping for different results” was the Definition of Insanity. If you want to avoid being driven insane, you’ve got to make fundamental changes in how you define the work, where you go to fish and how deeply you fish, and how you validate the truth in candidate responses.
Our website, http://www.impacthiringsolutions.com contains an enormous amount of content, examples, templates, and step-by-step “how to” instructions on the simple methods of improving your hiring process. Take a look, implement a few revolutionary changes, and you’ll be amazed at how simple it can be to find great people, improve interview accuracy, and hire top talent.
